Mark visited busineses in Two Harbors asking for their thoughts about various issues which are impacting them. He will be visiting with as many other Lake County business owners as time allows. Some of their concerns and comments follow:
A. Taxes.
B. The impact of the First Avenue reconstruction project on business activity for those businesses located on First Avenue. The street will be closed, and access to businesses will be restricted in many cases to rear entrances.
C. More meaningful and timely communication with the city and the county would be appreciated.
D. More meaningful promotion and better directional signage for downtown businesses and the harbor area.
E. Easier and more affordable access to working capital. In some cases, this may involve help/partnering with state and federal grant requests.
F. Better coordination of promotional activity for visitors arriving by train from Duluth. Longer stop times in the city, if possible.
